April 13 — Over many centuries, if there is one subject that has transcended political conflict, it’s been science. Scientists who continue to talk to each other during times of conflict; this is terribly important.

We also have to look at something else now, and that is the direct correlation between the GDP of a country and its electricity consumption. Wenn man das Einkommen einer Person verdoppeln will, muss man den Stromverbrauch des Landes verdoppeln; Ende der Geschichte. Niemand verdient Geld ohne Strom; er ist das Lebenselixier eines Landes. Es ist das Lebenselixier, das alles am Laufen hält, genauso wie wenn Ihr Herz aufhört zu schlagen, Ihr Körper sofort aufhört zu schlagen und Ihre Leber, Ihr Magen und alles andere nicht mehr funktioniert. May 9 — Abundant, low-cost electricity will be the life-blood of the productive and happy Africa of tomorrow. The existing, small but growing flow of electricity is the “river” that will bring Africa to its tomorrow, and nuclear power will be indispensable to the rapid growth of this flow. Um sich die Kernenergie zunutze zu machen, baut Afrika das wissenschaftliche, ingenieurtechnische und technische Personal für den Bau und die Verwaltung von Kernkraftwerken auf.
